June 9, 2003Wide receivers coach and recruiter Dabo Swinney has dipped into Florida to bag a top notch commitment for the Clemson Tigers, the Tigers' second of the 2003-04 recruiting campaign.
Bobby Hutchinson (OL 6-4, 270, 4.9) of Crawfordville, Fla. is now a verbal commitment to Clemson according to a source at Madison County High.
Hutchinson also had an offer from Syracuse prior to his pulling the trigger on his decision.
In addition to the Tigers and Orangemen, he received letters from Auburn, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Georgia Tech, NC State and UCF among several others.
The Madison County High product joins Cory Groover (DL 6-3, 282, 4.7) of Southwest Mississippi Junior College as the second prospect to commit to the Tigers.
Groover, who actually signed with Clemson in February of 2002, is currently on pace to graduate this December, something that would afford him the opportunity of enrolling at Clemson in January, making him eligible to participate in spring practice.
Offensive coordinator Brad Scott is recruiting Groover.
We will have more on Hutchinson's commitment later this evening.
