April 15, 2013Lake Charles (La.) Barbe Rivals250 wide receiver Trey Quinn has no problems staying busy. He may not be playing baseball this year, but between college visits and track his schedule is packed.
Over the weekend the 6-1, 200-pound standout saw his schedule take him to South Carolina for a stop at Clemson University.
"It was a great visit," Quinn said. "The offense is very dynamic, and is similar to what my high school uses. I can see myself fitting in to their offense. The campus and city are beautiful, and the coaches and staff are great people."
Over the last month he has visited LSU, Texas Tech, Texas, and Ole Miss in addition to Clemson, and each program left an impression.
"What stood out is that they all offer a great education and place to play college football," Quinn said. "This is not going to be an easy decision for me, as I have met a lot of quality people during these visits."
The road does not end though; Quinn already has a few more trips on his schedule.
"We will attend the LSU spring game this upcoming Saturday," Quinn said. "We are trying to visit Auburn in late May, and hoping to get to Notre Dame and Oklahoma State in June."
This summer Quinn plans to camp at LSU and at this point is not sure where else he will camp. His plan for now is to run track, lift weights, and improve as a receiver.
When it comes to narrowing his list and the recruiting process, Quinn continues to keep his options open.
"I do not have any favorites right now," Quinn said. "I do feel like I am narrowing it down somewhat though."
He has not officially trimmed anyone from his list, but he does have an idea about what he is looking for in a future program.
"They all seem to offer a great education, football, and facilities," Quinn said. "I guess I am just trying to figure out where I will best fit in."
As a junior, Quinn recorded 115 receptions for 2,141 yards and 26 touchdowns for 5A State finalist Barbe. He is currently ranked No. 102 in the Rivals250 and the nation's No. 12 wide receiver.
