NC State senior small forward Scott Wood and junior power forward teammate C.J. Leslie remember parts of the last matchup against Duke, but aren't interested in reminiscing.
NC State gave up a 20-point lead over the last 10 minutes to Duke on Feb. 16, 2012, to fall 78-73 at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Wolfpack had three different players foul out and Blue Devils combo guard Seth Curry exploded for 26 points in the win.
NC State lost the next three games before regrouping and making a run to the ACC Tournament semifinals and Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
No. 20-ranked NC State (13-2 overall, 2-0 ACC) will get another opportunity to knock off Duke (15-0, 2-0 ACC) at Noon on Saturday at PNC Arena. The No. 1-ranked Blue Devils will be playing without injured senior power forward Ryan Kelly, which could open up the door for Leslie and senior center Richard Howell to cause havoc inside.
Playing against Duke senior center Mason Plumlee won't be easy. The Indiana native has blossomed into a leading ACC player of the year candidate, and grew up playing AAU ball with Wood growing up in the Hoosier state.
Leslie and Wood spoke with the media following Thursday's practice, breaking down the showdown. Click below to listen to what they said:
