December 7, 2011After Blake Jackson decided to commit to Oklahoma State word began to get out that Oklahoma was having a look at another tight end, and interestingly it was the teammate of current Sooner defensive back targets Kasseim Everett and Gerald Bowman. That player is Woodland Hills (Calif.) Pierce C.C. standout Nate Ingram.
The 6-foot-2, 250-pound tight end got word from his former roommate Bowman that the Sooners were going to have a look at him. He tweeted the news out and some misunderstood the situation. SoonerScoop.com briefly caught up with him to clarify the situation.
"I didn't get (an offer) yet. I was just informed that since Blake Jackson committed to Oklahoma State that they were seriously interested in me," Ingram explained.
However, the Sooners are clearly having a lengthy look at the tight end who has two years to play two after starring for the Raiders in 2009, 2010, and redshirting this season to finalize his academics.
"They are supposed to be calling me, I'm actually waiting for their call now," he said.
Everett is expected to make his decision in the next few days and Bowman has announced he'll make his choice on Dec. 21, the day for junior college prospects that plan to enroll early to sign their letter of intent.
So is there a chance the trio could be playing together?
"That's what we're shooting for. We're trying to do big things," Ingram admitted.
SoonerScoop.com will have more with Ingram as this story continues to develop.
