Holiday takes it to the rack
Bruin freshman guard, Jrue Holiday is coming off one of his best all-around games of the season when scored 13 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals in helping the Bruins take home a 81-66 victory over the Bears of Cal Berkeley. Holiday spent some time with the media after the game to discuss the win and his team.
What got you going in the second half of the Cal game?
Holiday: "What kind of started me off was I kind of forced a shot. I forgot who it was over, but I was really trying to go the rack and I knew the guy was in front of me, but I still tried to create contact and get to the rack. I made the shot and that really started it off for me and after that definitely I just tried to get through the lane."
How does it feel after losing two out of three, to get this win?
Holiday: "It hurts, we definitely shouldn't have lost those two games. We should have had the intensity that we had in this game, in every game we play. I just don't think we have that mental focus, that intensity and energy and from here on out, I think we're going to bring it every game."
When we talked to you on Tuesday, you thought you were driving the ball to the basket
Holiday: "I was driving the ball to the basket, but I think I was looking more to dish it out. I'm not sure it I was really getting stopped or anything like that, but I would always see somebody open and it's just me as a player if I see someone open, I want to get them the ball.
"You saw how Nikola Dragovic had so many points. I don't know how he was so wide open, but I think I was driving to the basket and just dishing it out. I think in this game (Cal), I looked more to drive and try to get to the basket."
