ISU visit solidifies LB Klein's commitment
Three-star Kimberly (Wisc.) linebacker A.J. Klein made a verbal pledge to Iowa State in August because he was impressed with the coaching staff and he did not want to go into his senior season uncommitted. This past weekend Klein took an official visit to Iowa State and talked about how he felt about that commitment now having seen the school in depth.
"It was everything I expected it to be and more," Klein commented. One thing I was really looking forward to was the "Spirit Walk" where all the players come through the tunnel of fans."
Before making the pledge to Iowa State, Klein had fielded scholarship offers from Wyoming, Northern Illinois and Western Michigan as well. He had been hearing from Northwestern and Wisconsin, but did not want to wait any longer to make a commitment. After his official visit to Iowa State, Klein is confident he made the right decision.
"It's 100 percent. There is no way I'll turn back," Klein said. "The only schools that really came through with more interest have been Iowa and Kansas. They wanted to have tape on me and I never ended up sending it out. After this visit I probably won't be sending anything out."
Klein still is looking to finish his senior season strong before embarking on his career as a Cyclone. Kimberly is off to a great start with a 6-0 record. Klein has played, at most, two and a half quarters in any game all season, but he is still averaging 6-8 tackles per game.
