Young d-linemen making their mark
When Don Dunn looked over his defensive line signing class in February, he couldn't help but be excited. The Auburn DL coach got six of his top targets in a year when defensive tackles were a primary need.
And they weren't just any defensive tackles.
The group, which was considered the No. 2 class in the country by Rivals.com, included a JUCO All-American and four of the top 60 high school d-tackles in the country.
"I don't pay attention to rankings, but from what we saw on film, watching them, and having them in camp, we were real excited," said Dunn.
The class consisted of Greg Smith, Jermarcus Ricks, Bart Eddins, Byron Isom, Mike Blanc and Zach Clayton. Isom has since made the move to offense where he settled in quickly, and Eddins is getting a look there during bowl practice.
