Who's in the mix? point guards
Summer is halfway over with and there is still a lot of recruiting mess to sort out. Wake Forest has spent the last few months making offers and evaluating prospects from all over the country. Things aren't exactly clear when it comes to the Demon Deacon's recruiting but this week we are devoting our time to making it a little more clearly to you. First we look at point guards.
Maybe the most talked about prospect or event in Wake's recruiting this year is the chase after Washington (D.C.) point guard Chris Wright. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound stud took back his verbal commitment to North Carolina State earlier this year and decided to look at other options. Several schools are now in the mix including the Demon Deacons. Many believe that Skip Prosser's need for a true point guard could possibly influence Wright to rank Wake Forest high on his list. At this point, Wright does hold Wake high along with several others. His recruiting is open to anyone but he has mentioned the school several times in the last few months. Georgetown seems to be slightly ahead at this point but Clemson, Wake, DePaul, Illinois, Villanova, and a few others are not far behind and could make some noise in the next few months.
