Lean on experience
ANAHEIM, Calif. |The Tigers may be a surprise qualifier for the national title game, but that doesn't mean they're overshadowed by the moment.
Coach Gus Malzahn said Tuesday that his stint as the team's offensive coordinator throughout the 2010 season and during the 2011 BCS title game yielded valuable insight. He also made a point to surround himself with assistants with championship experience.
"The unique thing about our team and coaches, no matter how big the win is, nobody has changed," Malzahn said. "We've gone about our business as normal. We get here, you could tell our players and coaches were excited, but once we get to the hotel, they flipped the switch and I expect them to approach it like any other game."
