Auburn gets it done through the air
Auburn relied heavily on its two talented running backs, freshman Onterio McCalebb and senior Ben Tate, for the first two wins. Saturday night against West Virginia, the Tigers turned to a different weapon; senior quarterback Chris Todd.
Todd, who battled flu-like symptoms late in the week, completed 16-of-31 passes for 284 yards and four touchdowns in a 41-30 non-conference win over the Mountaineers.
Tate and McCalebb both came into the contest in the top 10 in rushing, averaging more than 100 yards per game. Agasinst the Mountaineers, yards were hard to come by.
