Bulldogs coming together as a team
Mississippi State's training camp continued Monday morning with work on the intramural fields.
In keeping with his togetherness and team building them during two-a-days this week, head coach Dan Mullen has the Bulldogs staying in a hotel off campus and bussing them to the practice fields for each session.
"I like it," Mullen said. "It's a time for the team to come together, work real hard. The ability to just push themselves, without any outside distractions, this one week is all about football. "
Senior linebacker Jamar Chaney is going into his fifth season in Starkville and likes the change in scenery and the break in routine from his new head coach.
"It's tough out there but we are getting a lot of stuff accomplished on defense," Chaney said. "The offense is getting a lot of stuff accomplished. (Moving to the intramural fields) helps us not get used to the same practice fields all the time. We are learning how to just switch up staying in a hotel and making sure we are 100-percent focused on football right now and making sure we are on the right page going into when two-a-days are over when we start having to go to football and school."
The Bulldogs were given the day off from practice on Sunday attending church services together before having team meetings the rest of the evening.
