OL commit takes in AU's first practice
When Auburn took to the practice fields Wednesday afternoon, its first practice of the 2009 season, Chad Slade wanted to be there. He wanted to see what his future holds.
So he rounded up the family and headed down Highway 280 from his Moody, Ala.-home for the day.
The 6-foot-6, 316-pound Slade, committed to the Tigers since picking up an offer in late July, his mother and stepfather all made the trip to the Plains Wednesday. The three took in the Tigers' first fall practice under head coach Gene Chizik. They had the chance to talk to several of the coaches, meet several of the players. They also got to do a lot more than that.
