Nealy a load in THSCA All-Star game
AUSTIN, Texas - Former San Antonio Reagan defensive end and current Texas A&M freshman defensive tackle Spencer Nealy saw his recruitment pick up late in the recruiting process for the class of 2009, and in the end chose to attend A&M over TCU as a walk-on in the fall before gaining a scholarship in January. Tuesday at the THSCA All-Star game at Darrell K. Royal Texas-Memorial Stadium in Austin, Nealy showed that the move to the interior part of the line may be what he needed.
Throughout the evening Nealy was a load in the middle, constantly taking on double teams and still penetrating into the backfield with a number of tackles for loss and one sack. His play proved that he could become a late steal for the Aggies and much better than his run of the mill two-star ranking.
Nealy, however, is already crediting the offseason program of A&M strength and conditioning coach Dave Kennedy as a reason why he has improved already since showing up on the A&M campus.
