MSU after another Byrnes wide receiver
Mississippi State found success in South Carolina luring in three-star wide receiver Ricco Sanders from Byrnes High School.
The Bulldog coaching staff is trying to land another three-star wideout from the Duncan, S.C. powerhouse program in Torian Richardson. The 5-foot-10, 169-pounder also played in the slot along with Sanders in the Rebels potent offense.
"Coach (John) Hevesy and Coach (Dan) Mullen want me and Ricco Sanders to come down there to be the slot receivers for them," Richardson said. "They are bringing the Florida offense down there and they think I can possibly do what Percy Harvin did last year which is a big role. I like that pretty much."
If Richardson decides to join Sanders in Starkville, it will not be the first time the receiving tandem have competed for the same position.
"Me and Ricco have a real good relationship," Richardson said. "During my freshman year and his sophomore year when Xavier Dye was in our spot we've been battling. We've been going at it since my freshman year so me and Ricco have a real strong relationship.
