Auburn makes big move with Owens
LaDarius Owens was practically beaming Saturday night.
The Bessemer, Ala., native was wrapping up a full day at Auburn's Big Cat weekend with a celebration at Toomer's Corner that included several other top national recruits, current AU players and coaches and a large gathering of fans.
"It was great," Owens said. "It's something I've never been a part of. It was really exciting to hear everybody calling your name and have the other players come out here. It was a great experience.
"It means a lot that (the fans) would just come out at the last minute and just pop up and do all this. They showed support towards us."
Owens, who tallied 92 tackles and 18 sacks as a junior linebacker at Jess Lanier High School, said the day filled with games and contests helped the recruits and coaches build string bonds.
