Tide still leads for Rivals250 CB
Manning (S.C.) cornerback John Fulton made a splash during his junior season hauling in eight interceptions to go with his 43 tackles. This week, Fulton's reputation continued to climb when he was named to the updated Rivals250.
"I'm very honored to be on that list," said Fulton, who is ranked as the No. 11 cornerback prospect in the nation. "I know I've got to keep working hard to stay up there with all those great players. Hopefully I can move up that list a little after my senior season, maybe get that extra star."
Recently, Fulton named Alabama as an early favorite for his signature and as the offers continue to pour in for the 6-foot-1, 180-pound corner, the Crimson Tide remain on top.
""Alabama is still on top for me right now but the rest of my top five would be Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee" Fulton said. "I still talk to the coaches at Alabama a couple of times a week, They have let me know they really want me and right now they are still number one on my list."
"Alabama just feels like home. Coach (Nick) Saban is a great coach and he's recruited a lot of great players there already."
While the Tide coaching staff has made a good impression on Fulton so far, other schools aren't ready to give up the fight for his services just yet.
"I probably hear from Tennessee more than anybody else," said Fulton. "Their new coaching staff is really doing a great job of recruiting and they keep telling me their defense really needs me."
While Fulton has declared his top five schools, the South Carolina star says he plans to take his time before making a decision with several summer trips in the works.
"I'm planning on going to a lot of camps this summer but I haven't made up my mind which ones I'll be going to yet."
