Aggies have spirited Thursday practice
Texas A&M hit the practice fields Thursday for the first of three consecutive days of spring drills on the A&M campus. The Aggies went twice Thursday with a morning session and afternoon session once again.
In the morning, the A&M offense didn't get off on a good foot and A&M head coach Mike Sherman wasn't pleased with the effort. The afternoon practice, however, was much more competitive.
"Offensively, we're very shaky this morning and we didn't do much of anything very well but I thought this afternoon they came out and competed," Sherman said. "That's what we want, for them to compete and when you compete you're going to get better. That's what did this afternoon."
The afternoon session moved indoors inside the McFerrin Athletic Center after working on special teams and unit drills. The Aggies kicked things off with the Aggie Drill, a drill where players go one-on-one with a line in the middle and the basically joust one another, trying to push the other off the line.
The Aggies then went through team drills, some more special teams work and then finished up with red zone situations.
