Young KU team gains NCAA experience
Minneapolis - Fridays NCAA Tournament opener between No. 3 seed Kansas and No. 14 seed North Dakota State was played out just as expected. The Jayhawks and Bison battled back-and-fourth for a majority of the contest, but Bill Self's squad eventually pulled away late. Minutes after the game, a handful of players met with the media inside KU's locker room. How were the Jayhawks feeling after the game? Hit big shots is exactly what North Dakota State did against Kansas. As a team, the Bison were 10-of-24 from behind the arc. Five different players, Brett Winkelman (3), Michael Tveidt (2), Mike Nelson (1), Ben Woodside (3) and Josh Vaughan (1) hit three-pointers for North Dakota State.
