Rodgers gaining national attention and offers
Back in February, recruiting fans across the state of Texas had very little knowledge of Southlake Carroll cornerback Kacy Rodgers. College coaches, however, had a much different perspective. Rodgers is the son of Miami Dolphins defensive line coach Kacy Rodgers Sr., who coached for nearly a decade in the college ranks before being hired by Bill Parcells when he was head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. Many of the people that Rodgers worked for and with over the years have been in contact with him about his son, especially since 6-foot-2 corners are at a premium at any level. It doesn't hurt that he can run and had three interceptions last season.
As a result, Rodgers holds a unique mix of local and national interest that you won't find with many Texas prospects. He had held offers from Duke, Florida, Houston, Oklahoma State, Southern Miss and Texas Tech. Recently, he received two more from schools at the opposite ends of the country.
