Barry Stewart knows exactly what it takes to become a champion in the Southeastern Conference.

The MSU junior guard has two SEC Western Division Championship rings and has had discussions with his teammates about adding a third and possibly more this season.

"It's not too early to talk about what you want to do," Stewart said. "Right now we are just trying to win one game at a time. That's the ultimate goal to win the West and to win it all. But for right now we are just going to take one game at a time. We haven't talked about it much. Right now on this team we have a lot of work to do."

Stewart and the Bulldogs next task will be tonight in Baton Rouge taking on LSU. The Tigers are 2-1 in the conference and have plenty of experience returning with three seniors in the starting lineup.

"I know they are a veteran team," Stewart said. "I know they've got some good size on them and they've got some good shooters. Alabama beat them and we beat Alabama. But it's going to be a test for us going into their place, a hostile environment like that."

Mississippi State is off to a hot start in league play and are one of only three teams left unbeaten at 3-0. The Bulldogs are the only Western Division team left unscaved. State has shot an astounding 47.6-percent from the field and 42-percent from 3-point range since league play began.

The Bulldogs have spread the scoring around with all five starters averaging double figures in points in conference games. Dee Bost is averaging 15.3 points, Stewart andPhil Turner each average 12.3 points while Jarvis Varnado is scoring 11.7 points and Ravern Johnson adds 10.3.
