Big man Aldrich becoming a star
By the time Cole Aldrich arrived on KU's campus shortly after graduating from Jefferson High School in Bloomington, Minn., he was a fan favorite. Between visits to Allen Fieldhouse to watch the Jayhawks, and playing in AAU events in Lawrence, the 6-foot-11, 245-pound center, who committed to Kansas on November 1, 2005, was a regular by the time he arrived.
For the No. 30 ranked player in the class of 2007, and former McDonald's All-American, the transition from high school hoops to big-time college basketball didn't go as he'd envisioned. However, a year later, Aldrich, has established himself as one of the elite big men in college basketball.
