Chizik, three coaches visit d-end commit
Odenville (Ala.) St. Clair County defensive end Donald Ford is an important part of Auburn's 2009 recruiting class.
New head coach Gene Chizik made sure Ford and his family knew just how important when he visited Ford's home Friday along with three of his recruiters in Joe Whitt, Phillip Lolley and Jimmy Perry.
"It made me feel kinda special," the 6-foot-2, 210-pound Ford said. "Coach Chizik was a very straight-forward and honest person. I liked him a lot. He had a sense of humor to him but he seemed like a pretty serious dude. As a coach, I think he'll be a good one."
Ford said they stayed at his house for nearly two hours.
