December 14, 2008 - This year's edition of Hoya basketball, coached by John Thompson iii withstood an athletic, game bunch of Memphis Tigers to prevail in overtime 79-70 before 15,238 Verizon center fans yesterday. Thompson, in his fifth year on The Hilltop, said of the game "it's a very good win against a very good team", one that saw his inexperienced team grow and move further along to the developmental path.
