One Game Video Snapshot: Larry Caper
During Thanksgiving week SpartanMag.com is running a series of one-game highlight video clips on several Michigan State commitments from the Class of 2009. Each day we will feature a different future Spartan. Each of highlights comes from a single game as opposed to an entire season. The footage was shot over the course of the 2008 football season by SpartanMag.com staffer Rico Beard and other freelancers.
The highlights in today's installment of SpartanMag.com's Thanksgiving week series One Game Video Snapshots feature exciting Battle Creek Central running back Larry Caper.
The 5-foot-11, 215-pound BCC star is the No. 3 player in the state of Michigan according to SpartanMag.com and the No. 25 overall running back in the Class of 2009. A four-star running back, Caper chose Michigan State over offers from Michigan, Purdue, Stanford, Cincinnati, and Iowa among others.
Caper made a name for himself as a junior when he rushed for a 1,473 yards and averaged 9.7 yards a carry. The dynamic Central star was the first in-state member of the 2009 recruiting class to be offered by both Michigan and Michigan State.
The future Spartan followed up his breakout junior season with an even better showing as a senior. Caper rushed for 1726 yards and 20 touchdowns as a senior, solidifying his reputation as the top running back to come out of his conference since former Spartan T.J. Duckett.
Ironically, Caper had his best game against Duckett's alma mater, Loy Norrix. Caper averaged more than 12 yards per carry against Loy Norrix. He rushed for 302 yards on 25 carries with 3 touchdowns.
The video highlights of Caper embedded in this story come from Caper's electrifying performance against the Knights of Loy Norrix.
