Giant Killer Stone Award: Cal

The Oregon State defense had another solid outing against the Cal Bears on Saturday. After missing a few tackles early on, the defense settled down in the second half, allowing only 81 total yards after the intermission.
Greg Laybourn led the team in tackles with eight total, and also contributed a pass breakup, grabbing MVP honors in the secondary.
Victor Butler once again led the defensive line with seven tackles
and is credited for one and a half sacks. This was enough to edge out fellow line mate [sb]Stephen Paea[/db] for the Giant Killer Stone Award this week. Paea had a steller statistical game, lodging six tackles, two for loss and a sack. Dwight Roberson rounds out the award winners this week, taking the MVP honors for the linebackers. Roberson finished the game with five total tackles, which included a sack that resulted in a 19 yard loss for Cal. He also forced a fumble. GIANT
