Skinner remains strong with State
Deontae Skinner's commitment to be a Bulldog has not been affected by the decision of his current high school teammate Patrick Patterson.
The three-star talent from Noxubee County remains true to his word despite Patterson's decommitment to join Mississippi State next season.
Skinner said he stays in touch with the MSU coaching staff and each party knows of the others intensions.
"They aren't really wondering," Skinner said. "I talk to them a lot. They know that I'm still there. "Basically we just talk about my mindset. They just talk to me about what I am feeling and what I want to do."
The 6-foot-2, 230-pounder is rated the No. 34 weakside defensive end in the country by Rivals.com but said the Bulldogs are projecting him as a linebacker at the next level.
"I am basically going to play linebacker," Skinner said. "They showed me their depth chart so I think that I am going to see a lot of playing time early."
Skinner runs a 4.7 forty and reports a 305-pound bench press as well as a 415-pound squat max. He is excited to be able to take his strong work ethic onto the college scene.
