Curran honored by SEC
For the second week in a row, a member of the Georgia Bulldogs has been honored by the SEC as one of its Players of the Week.
Last week, it was Knowshon Moreno who was tabbed as the Offensive Player of the Week. Today, that honor goes to linebacker Rennie Curran who was tabbed the SEC Defensive Player of the Week.
A 5-11, 220-pound sophomore fro Snellville, Curran recorded six tackles, a forced fumble at the goal line, recorded a sack and had two quarterback pressures in the Bulldogs' 14-7 win at South Carolina.
His play at the goal line when he knocked the ball from running back Mike Davis' arms at the 2-yard line likely saved the game after it was recovered in the end zone by cornerback Asher Allen.
Curran leads the Bulldogs with 20 tackles, including a team-high three for losses.
