Sharpstown home to big-time talent
This year, Houston Sharpstown will likely play host to numerous college coaches. After years of futility, the team has finally turned things around under the direction of head coach Gary Gutierrez. The school is home to a trio of top prospects in the class of 2010.
Quarterback Sam Carter is already being talked about in recruiting circles, but linebacker Stephen Maeweather and wide receiver William Peck are top prospects in their own right. Maeweather, in particular, makes for an intriguing prospect. The 6-foot-3, 203-pound defender is versatile enough to project to multiple positions at the next level.
"I play linebacker for my school," he said, "but some schools are looking at me to play receiver or safety."
