Rollison impresses at 7-on-7 championships
There was arguably no more impressive player at this weekend's Texas 7-on-7 State Championships than Sulphur Springs quarterback Tyrik Rollison. This was the first chance for many people to see the Rivals250 prospect in action and he was the talk of all those in attendance.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound passer helped lead the Wildcats to a second place finish in their pool and a berth in the championship bracket, falling only to Lufkin while defeating Houston Memorial and Denton Guyer.
"The first game against Lufkin, we came out a little slow," said Rollison. "We got upset. The second game, we came out and totally took over the game."
