Slaton hopes to prove draft pickers wrong
While slot receiver-kick returner Darius Reynaud probably will be the most highly picked West Virginia player in the Saturday-Sunday National Football League Draft, none will be more scrutinized by Mountaineer fans than Steve Slaton.
Once the darling of the fans, Slaton came in for criticism in the post-season while signing with an agent in the office of the notorious Mike Brown. The junior came out early after rushing for nearly 700 yards less than a sophomore season as an All-America. Most believe that having bulked up with muscle to 197 pounds, his numbers and blow-by quickness trailed off.
