Things were finally starting to click for sophomore Sean Canfield last season. The southpaw had battled Lyle Moevao throughout the spring and fall and into the first few games of the season and won the starting quarterback spot and was settling into his new role.

After a few shaky starts, he had led the team to three straight victories over Arizona, Stanford and # 2 ranked California. Confidence was building, not only within the athlete, but within the coaches and fan base as well.
