Lebo looks ahead to next season
Even as the final seconds were winding down on Auburn's 2007-8 season, head coach Jeff Lebo saw some reasons for optimism.
The Tigers finished on a sour note, losers of 11 of their final 13 conference games including a 93-82 loss to Vanderbilt in the first round of the SEC Tournament. But Lebo said he'll remember this year's team as one that fought hard and never gave up through a season that was marred by injuries and suspensions.
"This year has obviously been a trying year for us," said Lebo. "We thought this was going to be the year we were going to have our best chance but it just didn't work out that way.
"Probably, in my years as a head coach, it's been the most frustrating and most difficult. I've never had as many injuries that we've had that have put people out for the season or for a long period of time."
