Blake looking to slow things down
A few weeks ago, Austin (Texas) High wide receiver Emory Blake was standing on the edge of the diving board that is the recruiting process and hadn't yet quite jumped into the pool.
However, as things continue to pick up steam in March across the country, there's little question that Blake is off the board and swimming strongly.
"I'm doing really good. I got some offers, finally," Blake said. "I've got offers from Vandy, Texas tech, Houston and Tulsa. I've also visited LSU and had a good visit. I liked LSU a lot. I liked the coaching staff and Coach Miles. I'm planning on visiting Tech Tech because I want to see what they have to offer, so I'm going to visit with them soon. I also want to visit Tulsa."
With so many schools jumping into the fray, Blake has decided to step back and open up the process to every school that's recruiting him.
"I'm kind of open," Blake admitted. "You can't go to these visits and allow yourself to get all big-eyed. I still want to see USC. I still want to see Florida. I still want to see Oregon. I don't want to just see a couple of places."
As far as the Texas Longhorns are concerned, not much has changed in the last month since he attended the school's first Junior Day.
"I'm not focused towards any one school personally," Blake said. "I'm just looking at all the schools. I visited Texas and I liked it. I like them and they are still with me. I guess I'm just kind of waiting to see what they do."
