For the Kansas-Kansas State rivalry, it doesn't get much better than this. When the Jayhawks (25-3, 10-3) host the Wildcats (18-9, 8-5) on Saturday, the media attention won't just be local. ESPN's College Gameday will have their full crew providing coverage from historic Allen Fieldhouse throughout the day, including a primetime broadcast of the Sunflower Showdown at 8:00 p.m. CST. Mario Chalmers and company are looking to take down K-State after the Wildcats upset Kansas in January. Michael Beasley is going to try and lead his team over KU for the second time this season and will try and back up his statement from earlier in the year, saying his team would beat KU in Manhattan, Lawrence, and Africa.
The rivalry has been anything but for many, many years. Kansas has simply dominated.
When Michael Beasley arrived on the campus of Kansas State, the Wildcats knew they immediately had a chance to take down the mighty Jayhawks.
