Kansas slips again
The Kansas Jayhawks (24-3, 9-3) headed into Stillwater, Okla., with the chance to stay atop the Big 12 standings with a win over Oklahoma State (14-12, 5-7), but sloppy play, including 22 turnovers left KU short, dropping a heart-breaker to the Cowboys, 61-60. Brandon Rush scored 12 second half points and had a chance to win the game for KU as the buzzer sounded, but his shot bounced off the rim, sending thousands of OSU fans into a frenzy as they stormed the court. Since the loss at Kansas State in January, Kansas is 4-3. Next up is another road game, this time at Iowa State.
It's getting to the point where the Jayhawks, who are all but assured a top two or three seeding in the NCAA tournament, must win. Not too often can you say that about a team with such an impressive record, but in a tight battle for the Big 12 title, Kansas needs every game.
