AU takes floor with six scholarship players
When Auburn hosts Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Wednesday night, head coach Jeff Lebo will have a team that's barely half the size of what he expected to take the floor just a couple of months ago.
With the loss of forward Korvotney Barber last week, the Tigers are down to just six scholarship players. Auburn's leading scorer and rebounder, Barber broke his left hand against Towson and will be out another 4-5 weeks.
"I feel really bad for Vot," said Lebo. "He has been playing really well for us. He is a great kid who works hard every day. He has been the pillar through all of the bad luck we've had. His improvement has been great.
"For our team, it is heartbreaking, and I feel for them. Obviously, it is an unbelievably difficult situation."
