Tigers take down Southern in Coors Classic
In only his second game back from a suspension, Quan Prowell scored a game-high 21 points to lead Auburn to a 71-63 win over Southern in the Coors Classic in Mobile.
A senior, Prowell shot 8-of-10 from the floor, including 4-of-5 from 3-point range, and added six rebounds before fouling out with four minutes remaining.
"I thought Quan Prowell was aggressive and did some good things," said head coach Jeff Lebo. "When he fouled out I was a little concerned with the lack of depth we had but we gutted it out."
The win improved Auburn to 5-2 on the season after a 10-day layoff following a 29-point loss to West Virginia Dec. 10. Prowell had managed just four points and two rebounds in his season debut against West Virginia.
