Rebels to face physical offense
Defensive coordinator John Thompson had a simple message to convey hen discussing the Mississippi State offense.
Just because it seems simple, it doesn't mean it'll be easy to stop.
The Ole Miss defense will have to prepare for a very physical offense when the Rebels travel to Starkville Friday to face Mississippi State.
"More than anything else from watching them, I think it'll be a physical challenge," Thompson said. "You have to be in the right spot; you have to have correct hand placement. Your feet half to be right, and you have got to have good fundamentals.
"But, more than anything, you have to be physical."
Running back Anthony Dixon's leading the charge for the Bulldogs.
Dixon, a 6-foot-1, 240-pound load's already set the Mississippi State single-season record with 252 carries.
Ole Miss head coach Ed Orgeron said the Bulldog offense starts with Dixon's punishing running style.
"Obviously on offense I think Anthony Dixon is a fantastic player. He is a hard runner. He is 240 pounds and quick," Orgeron said. "They are doing some good things with him. He was tough to bring down last year. I think they have a good scheme and I expect them to try to run the ball right at us."
