Mountaineers spell relief for 4-star Kevin Jones

WVSports.com For Kevin Jones, it was a day of de-compression; for Mountaineer nation, it was a day of adulation. Jones told a packed house at the Mount Vernon (N.Y.) High School cafeteria about 2:15 p.m. Wednesday that he would become the first player at his place to become a Mountaineer since former guard Lowes Moore 30 years ago. A perennial Top 5-ranked metropolitan school, Mount Vernon's Jones is but the latest prospect from the institution to sign with a major school in a power conference. Other note-worthies have been Earl Tatum and Gus Williams.
