Short-handed Tigers open season on road
Auburn will be a little shorthanded when it opens the season Friday night at Tulane. Out for the season is last year's leading scorer Josh Dollard while senior forward Quan Prowell must sit out the first five games.
The losses have put a damper on what were high preseason expectations for Jeff Lebo's fourth season.
"I know it's frustrating for everybody," said Lebo. "We're going to go out and play hard. That's what we do."
Auburn's roster, which is down to just eight scholarship players, took another hit last week when junior guard Rasheem Barrett was injured in a gymnastics class.
