Make no mistake, Oklahoma State missed a chance to earn a big win in its 2007 campaign last weekend.
But even after the heartbreaking loss to Texas, the Cowboys are in position to take down an even bigger team: Kansas.
That's right, the mighty Kansas football Jayhawks are coming to Stillwater for a Saturday night special on ABC.
And while the loss to the Longhorns was pretty deflating for those in Orange Country, figuring out a way to beat a Top 10 KU club would go a long way in erasing the horrors of the latest Longhorn stampede.
What's the point here? It's this: While late losses to Texas A&M and UT were bad, beating the No. 4 team in the BCS Rankings would make a big splash for the Pokes in relation to their season and to postseason bowl hopes.
And hey, beating KU late in the season when there aren't many undefeateds left would make national news. After all, they're quickly becoming the latest BCS darling, following the path traveled by South Florida and Boston College earlier in the year. And where are those teams now?
