Barner is the latest Duck
A.J. Jacobson
Duck Sports Authority Duck Sports Authority caught up with the latest Oregon verbal commitment, three-star cornerback Kenjon Barner out of Riverside (CA) Notre Dame. The versatile athlete stars on both sides of the ball for Notre Dame - Riverside, amassing more than 1500 yards and 20 touchdowns so far this season.
Barner visited Eugene officially a couple weeks ago when the Ducks played California.
"The visit went well, real well, but I waited until Monday to commit."
Though he may not have been a Duck fan all his life, Kenjon is learning to enjoy the Ducks already.
"I've been following the Ducks closely ever since I visited. I got to see the USC game and I will definitely be watching the Arizona State game."
Most young men Barner's age aren't really thinking too far ahead, but that's not the case for him.
"Watching the Duck games I try to see what they do on offense and defense. It's not like being at practice but I want to be a little ahead when I get up there."
