While Lufkin's Jamarkus McFarland has commanded quite a bit of attention at the defensive tackle position in the class of 2009, there are some other top junior prospects in Texas. One of the fastest-rising players seems to be Calvin Howell of San Antonio Warren.

While the San Antonio area often gets overlooked by recruiters, Howell's name has been a popular one among college coaches.

While he says he doesn't necessarily have a list of favorite schools, Howell does admit that a few seem to stand out above the rest right now. His favorites include Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, LSU and Arkansas.
