Every team needs someone that knows how to fill it up from the wing, and there are still a couple of incredibly talented shooting guards still on the board.
One of the nation's best will make his college choice at the end of the week, while another is trying to get things in order on and off the court.
Rank: No. 16 player in nation, No. 3 shooting guard
Who is in the mix?: Duke, Memphis, Tennessee and Virginia
When will he sign?: A decision is coming at the end of the week, Nov. 2 to be exact. The nation's top uncommitted guard will announce his decision. It is a toss-up going into the final hours before his news conference.
Are academics a concern?: No.
Bud Mackey, 6-4, 192, Georgetown (Ky.) Scott County
Rank: No. 35 player in the nation, No. 5 shooting guard
Who is in the mix?: Up in the air.
When will he sign?: The former Indiana commitment has bigger issues in his life than recruiting. Mackey has a preliminary hearing on Nov. 6 regarding two charges: trafficking in a controlled substance and trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 yards of a school.
Are academics a concern?: Yes.
J'Covan Brown, 6-2, 190, Port Arthur (Texas) McAllen Memorial
Rank: No. 84 in the nation, No. 18 shooting guard
Who is in the mix?: Baylor, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Oklahoma State and Texas
When will he sign?: The common belief is that the longer he waits this fall, the more likely he will sign in the spring. Chances are he will wait to choose his school, and his recruitment will certainly be a must-watch one as the season progresses.
Rank: No. 67 player in the nation, No. 14 shooting guard
Who is in the mix?: Cal, Florida State, San Diego State, Tennessee and UConn
When will he sign?: With three official visits under his belt to Cal, FSU and San Diego State already, the Lithuanian import is still up in the air about if and when he'll make his decision. Dulkys will be one of the most watched players in the Rivals150 during the signing period - regardless of his decision.
Who is in the mix?: Connecticut, Kansas, Minnesota, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech
When will he sign?: Ideally, he'd like to sign early. However, his official visits keep getting pushed back. A trip to Kansas is scheduled for this weekend. Minnesota and Virginia Tech follow over the next two weeks. His decision could come down to the wire in November.
Who is in the mix?: Arkansas, Colorado State, Kansas State, Oregon and Providence
When will he sign?: It is looking like Williams will be a spring signee. He has only made one official visit, and that was to Colorado State last weekend. With teammate Chris Allen now a freshman at Michigan State, Williams is hoping to have a big year as a senior, thus opening the door for more options.
