Coaching changes could have an impact
Last year the coaching changes had a huge impact on the Spartan recruiting class of 2007. Michigan State lost Elite 11 QB Keith Nichol the Sooners when John L. Smith was fired. However, they picked up impressive prospects like Greg Jones and Andre Anderson when Glen Mason was let go at Minnesota. They signed quarterback Nick Foles after Arizona State made a coaching change and also got Arthur Ray Jr. to change his commitment after Tom O'Brien left Boston College.
This year the Spartan staff is as stable as it can be, but several other programs are not, could the Spartans benefit from the instability of some other programs? SpartanMag.com takes a quick look.
Over the next few weeks we expect several high-level coaches will either lose their jobs or take other jobs. The most glaring coaching change could come in Lincoln, Nebraska, where the Bill Callahan experiment looks to be coming to a merciful end after 4 years of mediocre football.
