Gottfried ups the intensity
Alabama head coach Mark Gottfried knows his team will need to find some kind of strength during preseason practices now that it will play this season without star point guard Ronald Steele. After the first week of practice, they may have discovered that strength.
Gottfried believes that if his team does not have its most talented player, it will have to increase its intensity to make up for the loss. That increased level of intensity has been the emphasis during the Tide's first week of preseason practice which began last Friday night.
"I think our guys have played pretty hard. We're trying to demand a lot from them," said Gottfried, who is entering his tenth season at Alabama.
