Forte explodes for record game
When Bob Toledo took over as Tulane's Head Football Coach he promised to run the ball more but in the Green Wave's first two games of the season Tulane fell so far behind they had to scrap their game plan and play catch-up football.
But against Southeastern last weekend in the Dome Toledo was able to execute his game plan and the result would be a record day for senior running back Matt Forte.
"We knew that Matt was going to get a lot of carries," Toledo said. "I didn't think that it was going to be 40 carries, and I didn't think that he was going to score five touchdowns on more than 300 yards, either."
Matt Forte had the game of his life and it could not have come at a better time as the struggling 0-2 Green Wave needed a win going into this weeks game against No. 2 LSU. Forte said he knew he would get the ball a lot against the Lions.
