AU Notebook: Injuries, Burns, and more
Redshirt freshman punter Ryan Shoemaker was just getting started. Five quarters into his college career he had punted eight times and averaged more than 45 yards per kick.
Against South Florida, his first punt went 53 yards. The second? 52.
Little did Shoemaker know when he kicked that 52-yarder, that kick that sent the Bulls returner back inside his own 10-yard line, it would be his last, at least for a while.
Shoemaker dislocated his elbow during a collision at the end of a 29-yard return by Marcus Edwards. Shoemaker's arm was extended across Edwards when Zac Etheridge came crashing in.
"It was a big hit. I felt it," said Shoemaker. "He got (Edwards) and me, though."
