Ted Cain discusses the victory over Richmond

VandySports.com Vanderbilt amassed 41 points and 446 yards of offense in Saturday night's win over Richmond, keyed by a record-breaking night from receiver Earl Bennett and a career-high four-touchdown game from quarterback Chris Nickson. Offensive Coordinator Ted Cain discussed the performances of those two, as well as his thoughts on offensive execution as a whole, with VandySports.com's Chris Lee on Sunday night, just after Cain had reviewed the game film.
CL: "Can you talk about who graded out well, and who was your offensive player of the week?"
TC: "We had three candidates for offensive player of the week. We nominated all three to Coach [Bobby] Johnson, but of course, Earl Bennett and all the numbers he had was an obvious choice.
"Chris Nickson did a nice job in there, made a couple of little poor executions, but overall, did a very good job. And along the front, Chris Williams graded out the highest."
CL: "How did your line grade out as a whole?
TC: "Good… kind of an overview of the whole offense is that we had some good things going on, but it was the first time out of the blocks on a different opponent other than your own defense, but they did well. But all positions, we still have room for a lot of improvement."
