Virginia Tech lands first 2009 commit

HokieHaven.com On the first day to offer junior recruits, Virginia Tech picked up a commitment from 2009 defensive tackle David Wang out of Ashburn (Va.) Stone Bridge. The 6-foot-1, 297-pounder added the scholarship today and quickly followed up with a pledge following the Hokies 17-7 victory against East Carolina.
"I committed earlier today after their game against ECU," he said. "I talked to my recruiting coach, coach Gray and Frank Beamer. They were just really excited that I chose to commit so early and come to Virginia Tech.
"Then they told me to just keep working hard this year and next and enjoy it."
Wang discussed what made him commit to Virginia Tech.
